Differences in the education system in Germany and in Indonesia

Differences education in Germany and in Indonesia, such as in kindergartens in Germany

or also called Kindergaten, in Germany, kindergarten students do not learn to
read or write. etc.), coloring, drawing, making crafts or basteln, swimming,
sports, shopping, making cakes together etc. And Tk in Germany also has 2 kinds
of school hours, namely full day (8 am to 4 pm) and Half a day (8 to 1 pm)
Whereas in Indonesia Tk have been taught to read, write and even count. And
usually school hours for kindergarten children in Indonesia are relatively
short as at 8 am to 11 noon








Other differences also exist in elementary school,
elementary school in Germany only up to grade 4 and all costs (school fees,
uniforms and textbooks) are free. Children who can take elementary education
are only children who are 6 years old. And also elementary schools in Germany
are generally required for swimming. Whereas in Indonesia elementary school
education lasts for 6 years and children can start school at the age of 7 years.









There are three types of secondary school after
graduating from elementary school.

a. Hauptschule is specifically for children with


problems, children with special needs or somewhat less learning.

b. Realschule is a kind of vocational school. After passing the child Realschule, continue to the desired and working berufbildung. Berufbildung is a special school for work. Children in the Realschule are not prepared to go to college.

c. Gymnasium, a school for children who will later go to college. Children attend school up to 12th grade then continue their education to college.Secondary schools after elementary school in Indonesia are junior high and high school / vocational schools both of them are the same in the embassy for 3 years.








Besides that the most striking difference from education in Germany and in Indonesia is that in Germany there is no National
Examination, in Germany the students are only assigned to the Semester Examination. Whereas in Indonesia if they want to continue their education they
must pass a national examination at the end of each education period.
