Hello friends ! wellcomeback to my blog. thankyou for all of you who always visited this blog. So today i would like to continue my discussion about my journal with the tittle The Influence of Students’Sociocultural Background on theIELTS Speaking Test Preparation Process.
As i tell you he introduction of this journal, today i woud like to mention some points of this journal that mention in literature review part. So let's started.
The first point in literature review is the demand of IELTS certificate, IELTS ceritificate is the most valued and recognizing by the international employers. So this is the factor why many university provide their student to take IELTS exam. and the exam has a competitive result. the writers tell this exam is not only chalenging the students but also the teacher who assume a large part of responsibility for a student’s success.
The second Point is, Sociocultural competence of the student impress the English language and the results of the certificate and this shows an ability to work in a multicultural team based on their greatly levels.
The third point, Highlighting the interconnection of sociocultural competence with other competences in a complex structure of an intercultural communicative is on linguistic competence often leads to a dysfunctional approach to language teaching, which Kramsch (2004) describes as teaching the four skills “plus culture”. However, culture should be “viewed as enabling language proficiency and as being the outcome of reflection on language proficiency” (p.
Another point is, in this study focus on how students use their ability to 4 speech functions:
1) explaining and paraphrasing,
2) expressing opinion,
3) summarising and
4) providing personal information.
and the last point that the writersmenton is : The survey aims to clarify whether the problems arising in the use of the speech functions are provoked by the students’ low language level, as is generally assumed. The survey is guided by the following research questions: 1) What are the reasons for the inefficient use of the speech functions? 2) Are there any sociocultural factors influencing the use of the speech functions? 3) Are teachers’ and students’ perceptions of the reasons for the inefficient use of the speech functions aligned? If yes/no, to what extent?
